Fort McIntosh was an important Army post established in 1849following the Mexican-American War. When the Mexican Revolution broke out in 1910, Army troops weredeployed to protect the area from Mexican rebels. Itwas closed after World War II, and became the site of Laredo Junior College - to prepare returning soldiersfor America’s new workforce
