From 1897 to 1958, this building served as a school for Hebbronville's Mexican American children. Uniquely, it was a Spanish-speaking institution that emphasized the preservation of Mexican culture and language. It was known for its rigorous curriculum, which prepared children for entering Jim Hogg County's public schools and other educational pursuits.

The building has served as a daycare in recent years but is now no longer in use. It is only observable externally. In the front yard is the Undertold Historical Marker.
