Daingerfield State Park is in a region that was once connected to the old Spanish missions via El Camino Real de los Tejas. The troops would have crossed or followed segments of the El Camino Real as they traveled between posts, performed escort duties, or headed home after their service. Today, visitors can enjoy the scenic hiking trails or tranquil 80-acre Little Pine Lake, perfect for swimming, fishing, and paddling. The park also has several historical Civilian Conservation Corps buildings, including cabins, a group hall, and a pavilion.
