After returning from the war, Angel Terrazas and his wife Elisa, started their first business in 1947 selling handmade tortillas. At first, they were only able to produce 200 dozen tortillas per day by hand operated machines. Later, through updated machinery, they were able to produce 200 dozen in only thirty minutes.

However, when the popularity of fresh tortillas caught on mid-century and grocery stores began to carry them, the Terrazas added chile corn chips, tostadas, and hot tamales to the factory's repertoire. So unique were his
chile corn chips that The Communicator, a state-wide publication produced in Fort Worth, wrote in 1951, “Mr. Terrazas makes the tastiest corn chips on either side of the Pecos River.”

Today, the business operates out of one of Fort Stockton's many naturally-cooled adobe buildings and is currently managed by a third-generation of Terraza.
