Clay County Courthouse
Lakes Trail Region
Originally constructed of red brick and limestone in the Renaissance Revival style. In 1911, the mansard roofs and tall, central tower were replaced with intersecting gable roofs and a octagonal domed cupola altering the original style to be more Classical Revival, while retaining the bracketed sheet metal cornice and double, limestone columnns at the corners from the 1884 design. More recently, the original arched window openings were partially or completely infilled.
