Cibolo Center for Conservation
The Cibolo Center for Conservation is located on what was once Herff Farm, established in 1852 by pioneer surgeon Dr. Ferdinand Herff. Today, the Center contains 100 acres of Hill Country trails and wilderness, perfect for for field trips, family outings and private moments. Participate in a workshop, volunteer as a citizen scientist, attend an informal concerts on the lawn or spend a morning in quiet contemplation.
In 2010, the Herff Farm was listed in the National Register of Historic Places. That same year, the farm was among seven sites that Preservation Texas named to its annual list of Texas’ Most Endangered Historic Places. The farm is a key element in the CNC’s Cibolo Conservation Corridor, a collaboration among a variety of partners aimed at protecting four miles of Cibolo Creek and its watershed.
