Brenham Heritage Museum
Independence Trail Region
Brenham was where a young musician from modern-day Czech Republic began a new life.
Professor F.J. Navratil immigrated to Texas as a young man, and dedicated his life to music. He led the Brenham town band for more than 40 years, and became best known for his years of service to the US Army.
Housed in a 1915 Federal Post Office building, the Brenham Heritage Museum showcases artifacts of Washington County heritage and history in contemporary museum displays and serves as a venue for local events.
