Boonville Heritage Park is the last preserved remnant of the town of Boonville, the original county seat of Brazos County. Occupying 11.29 acres, the park is home to the Turner-Peters log house, an original 1856 structure furnished with 19th century pieces that were typical to the Texas frontier. The park is also the site of the original Boonville cemetery where Harvey Mitchell, “The Father of Brazos County,” is interred.
