The Historic Allen House was built in 1911 as the home of Dr Walter Hanz Allen and his wife Nettie Falconer Allen. Dr Allen lost his life in 1922 in the collapse of the Brazos River bridge. This restored classic Greek revival home is used as a civic center. The center of the house features an impressive staircase featuring original stained glass windows.
