Nestled along the shores of Galveston Bay, Seabrook blends rich maritime history, coastal beauty, and small-town charm just minutes from Houston. Established in the late 1800s on land first settled during the era of Mexican Texas, the city grew from a fishing and farming community into a thriving waterfront destination.

Nature is at the heart of the Seabrook experience. Miles of scenic hike-and-bike trails wind through coastal prairie, wetlands, and maritime forests, connecting beautiful parks, birding hotspots along the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, and peaceful waterfront overlooks.

Seabrook played a supporting role in the Gulf Coast's maritime industry during World War II, with nearby shipbuilding and repair operations contributing to the nation's wartime efforts. Today, that nautical heritage lives on through the city's vibrant marinas, working waterfronts complete with fish markets, and boating culture.

The historic Old Seabrook district captures the city's timeless character with charming cottages, locally owned shops, eclectic dining, and public art (make sure to look for larger than life pelican statues), and welcoming streets that invite visitors to slow down and explore. Whether you're discovering local restaurants and shops, enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, or relaxing on a waterfront balcony, Seabrook offers an authentic Texas Gulf Coast experience where coastal heritage and nature come together.
