Partners provide critical funds to help us take advantage of unanticipated opportunities—opportunities that will help…
One of the best ways to learn about a place is to dig in like a local, and volunteer your time. And you can have fun doing it!
You'll find a variety of volunteer opportunities on this page--for both travelers and local residents--that will help our communities. Volunteer an hour or two, or several months...at arts organizations, at our state or national parks, at museum, festivals, local non-profit organizations.
We are happy to provide information about volunteer opportunities in our region; however, we do not review or vet volunteers, nor do we match volunteers with local agencies. Read through the opportunities listed below, do your own investigating and decision-making and have a great time!
Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center, Fort Davis, Yank and Yak, every Thursday, starting March 6 - 8:30a - 10:30. If you enjoy watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee, followed by working outside in the clear, clean morning air, then you need to join our Yank and Yak social gardening group. Our chores vary greatly, but our main goal is to always have fun while accomplishing our task at hand. If you have any favorite gardening tools, you can bring them along (optional). In addition, a hat, pair of gloves and a bottle of water are always recommended. For more information, or to get on the reminder email list, please contact Susan Penney by calling 432-364-2499 or emailing spenney@cdri.org.
