National Ranching Heritage Center - Ranch Day

Ranch Day is the best day of the year at the National Ranching Heritage Center! Ranch Day will be held on April 22, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can expect to enjoy activities centered around ranching history, ranch skills and ranch science.
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase with cash or card throughout the day.
In addition, there will be historical firearm demonstrations in the main gallery by Dr. Robert Tidwell, NRHC Curator of Historic Collections. Author S.J. Dahlstrom with Wilder Good Books Series will be on the patio with Happy Toy Maker, Jerry Sims. A Rafter 4T Chuckwagon will be set up and sheep and cattle will be on display to give visitors the full ranching experience.
Children will have the opportunity to become a “Ranch Hand” by completing six activities (two Ranch History, one Ranch Science, one Ranch Skill, and two other activities of choice). Once completed, they will take work cards to the Matador Office to get “paid” and can spend their hard-earned wages on prizes at the Waggoner Commissary.
