Chicken and Bread Days Heritage Festival celebrates the history of Bowie, Texas. The event began in to honor our World's Largest White Legged Horn Chicken ranch started by Mose Johnson. He got his start in business by selling chicken and bread to those at the train depot with Amon G. Carter. This downtown event brings one of the largest Piston Heads Auto Club car show, Championship Fiddler Competition, Live entertainment, Heritage Market vendors and food trucks, Kids Coop inflatables, and fun, exciting kids games like an egg toss and pumpkin sweep. It all starts at 10 a.m. and wraps at 4 p.m. in time to join the rodeo at the Bowie Rodeo arena.
