One hour narrated tour of Texas' largest inland port. The bayou tour narrates the history of Jefferson in regard to the steamboat business from here to New Orleans. The informal tour will give information about the area's trees, plants, and wildlife along the bayou. The tour starts at a building that is a fine example of "Po Phoke" architecture which is built in the shotgun style but placed on pilings above the flood-line. After the flood of 1945, all the buildings on the East side of the bayou in Jefferson were destroyed.
