Built in 1907 by A.W. Johnson and Dr. D. Williams, with Thomas Vetch, contractor, the Anson Opera House stands as a Texas Historic Landmark, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's 105 year history has seen its share of entertainers, live and on film, and has served as a community gathering place for events like a state championship wrestling match and high school graduations.Currently, the Anson Opera House holds monthly dinner/concert events.
