International Friendship Festival
Pecos Trail Region
Each March, the International Friendship Festival celebrates the long history of friendly collaboration between Eagle Pass, Texas, and Mexico’s Piedras Negras. It’s a highly-anticipated event filled with culture, friendship, and good times. Lively parades, scrumptious food, and activities such as mini-golf tournaments are fun for the whole family. The highlight of the festivities is the Abrazo — Spanish for “embrace” — where people from both countries line up to hug one another in the middle of the border-spanning international bridge. It is a not-to-be-missed experience!
