The 1st Cavalry Division Museum explores the history of the division that was formed in Texas in 1921, was converted from horseback to helicopter prior to the Vietnam War, and now serves as an armored cavalry division. Exhibits and vehicle displays trace the history of the 1st Cavalry Division from its beginnings on American Frontier to the streets of Baghdad. Guests to Fort Hood must receive a pass at the Visitor Center - follow the signs.The outdoor display at the museum features a wide selection of historical equipment. Whether it's an armored vehicle or aircraft, it has touched the division in a unique way and has added to the historical significance of the First Team.
