Old Glory

Forts Trail Region

In the late 1880s, the area had a few ranches and some scattered farms. By 1904, a group of German Americans had settled in the area and laid out a townsite to be called Brandenburg. When a railroad came through the area, the community moved and became known as New Brandenburg. At the beginning of World War I, a desire to demonstrate loyalty prompted the citizens to change the town name to Old Glory.
